Carpet Moths are a textile pest that love to feed on natural fibres such as wool, cashmere, silk, fur, feather and hides. Carpet moths tend to be dark brown to buff  in colour and tend to hop along the carpet rather than fly. They can be difficult to spot, the first signs are often threadbare carpets

A female carpet moth can lay between 30 and 200 eggs at once, hatching after just 30 days of incubating, it's these larvae that cause the damage, munching through large areas of fibres. 

Carpet moths love damp conditions. If you think you have an infestation vacuum thoroughly to remove eggs and larvae from carpets, and then keep vacuuming! several times a week.Treat the infested area with one of our Pest Expert products. Visit us in our Penzance showroom for more advise.
